How I Wash My Makeup Brushes

Hello everyone!

In today's blog post I am going to be sharing with you how I wash my makeup brushes (and sponges!) and which products clean them the best. I am so lazy when it comes to cleaning my makeup brushes, it seems to take absolutely ages, but I always notice that when they're clean my makeup applies a lot better!

I start off by gathering all of my brushes together and lying them out on a clean towel. One by one, I wash them with some cheap face wash. Today I used the Tea Tree face wash from Superdrug. Once my brushes are fairly clean I swirl them around in the NYX Brush Cleaner and then rinse them off, and this leaves them looking and smelling fresh.

I like to leave my brushes to air dry on a towel because that allows them to return to their original shape.

I hope that you enjoyed this blog post. Leave a comment and let me know if you want me to do a blog post on my everyday makeup brushes and tools:)

Currently Loving #7

Hello everyone!

I am back after what seems like FOREVER! I took a 4 month break from blogging, and in that time I have been trying out lots of new products. I thought that rather than doing separate reviews for each item, I would put together a 'currently loving' post instead:)

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Highlight Palette (£59.00):
I was debating for a good few months as to whether I should purchase this highlighting palette, but I did it and I don't regret it whatsoever! I have been using this highlighting palette everyday and it gives a gorgeous glow to the face. My favourite shade is the centre shade, which is called Incandescent Light, but I have been using and loving all three shades. I am gutted that I accidentally dented the shade Dim Light but these things are sent to try us I suppose!

Jeffree Star X Manny Mua Velour Liquid Lipstick in Daddy (£16.00):
My current favourite lipstick that I have been wearing religiously for the past 3 month or so is the Jeffree Star X Manny Mua collab in the shade Daddy. I love this lipstick for everyday wear as its really lightweight and comfortable to wear, without being drying. The shade is a gorgeous matte cool toned dark brown, and goes with every makeup look! I think that this shade really compliments my skin tone and is a staple in my makeup bag. I find that I have been leaning towards this shade type for quite a while now because of the fact they go well with my skin tone.

Super Snaps (formerly known as square snaps!) Mini Square Prints:
In my four month break I have been doing a bit of scrap booking. I like to keep all my pictures the same size, so I have been using a website called Super Snaps to order them in bulk. You can choose from a matte or glossy finish (I went with the glossy!) and the pictures turn out looking really high quality. I highly recommend this website as the prints always arrive really quickly and aren't too badly priced either. I am going to insert some pictures of my favourite scrapbook pages as well as one of my favourite photos, but I can do a full blog post on my scrapbook if you would like that:)

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation (£7.99):
In this post I want to share with you two products which I have recently rediscovered, the first is the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation. I used to love this foundation for everyday wear as it is really light on the skin but it also has great coverage, and I repurchased a bottle a few weeks ago. I love trying out new foundations but I also like to have a few trusty ones which I can always rely on, and this is definitely one of those!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19):
The second rediscovered product I am going to feature in this post is the Collection LP concealer. Can we just talk about the new package redesign?! The old packaging felt really cheap but the new packaging feels really sturdy and a lot more expensive than £4.19! I have been a fan of this concealer for a long time now; it covers dark under eye circles really well.

Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze Palette (£3.99):
Another product I have been loving from Collection, but this time a new one, is the Nude Bronze palette. I have had the nude version of this palette for a long time now but I wanted to try this version as I love the original nude one. The shadows are really pigmented and blend out nicely. I am going to be taking this on holiday with me because it gets the job done, and for under £4 I think that it's great.

Holika Holika Juicy Face Mask Sheets (£2.00 each):
The final products I have been loving over the past few months are Korean face masks, from the brand Holika Holika. I have been loving these sheet masks as they leave my skin feeling really refreshed and replenished. They come in a whole variety of scents and they're £2 each, an absolute bargain!

I hope that you enjoyed this blog post, I know that it has been a while since I last posted! Let me know in the comments what your favourite products are at the moment:)

The Weeknd Starboy: Legend Of The Fall 2017 Tour

Hello everyone!

Last night I went to see The Weeknd on his 2017 world tour. I thought that I would share some photos and videos from the concert, because I have done a post similar to this one before and you all seemed to like it. I must say, this is probably the best concert I have ever been to! I know that that is a very bold statement but it was truly amazing!

In total Abel sang 25 songs, some of which were his old classics and some were new songs from his Starboy album. My favourites were Six Feet Under, Often, Starboy, Can't Feel My Face, Earned It, False Alarm and The Hills.

We were so close to the stage so I got some good photos. I am going to end this post by sharing some of them with you:) If you want to see some videos that I filmed then you can head over to my Twitter (link at the end of this post) as I am going to be posting a few on there.

I hope that you enjoyed this little blog post, I know that it is different to my usual content. Have you been to see The Weeknd on his world tour?!

Until next time,

Updated Makeup Collection 2017

Hello everyone!

In today's post I am going to be sharing with you my updated makeup collection for 2017. Can you believe it's 2017 already?! I was going to do one at the end of last year but I decided to wait because I knew that I would be getting a lot of makeup for both Christmas and my birthday.

As with my previous makeup collections, I am going to be listing all the non makeup items at the end of this post. I'm not going to be listing any makeup products though because that would take far too long!

I am still storing my makeup collection in the same dressing table as before. The items on the top of my dressing table have changed so I will quickly run through those now. I also want to quickly mention the chair at my dressing table, as that has changed. I got the chair from Ikea (link at the end!) because I didn't really like the stool that came with it because it was uncomfortable to sit on. This chair is really comfy and I have a blanket draped over the back as well as a cushion on the seat, which I will try to link at the end of this post.

Starting with the very left hand side of my dressing table, I have my makeup brushes. The brushes are in my Ikea Skurar Pots, as they always have been, but I have then put those pots in a wooden storage box which I bought from Ponden Home Interiors. I can't find the storage on their website but I will link a few similar at the end of this post. I think that this looks really nice and adds a rustic effect to my dressing table.

I don't have anything else on the left hand side of the dressing table, so the next thing is my main mirror. I have had this for the same amount of time as my dressing table and I love that there's three parts to it. It is screwed down to the dressing table so that it doesn't fall over and smash, and that is why I have never decided to change it. In front of the mirror I have a little silver jewellery box which is engraved and I store all of my everyday jewelry in it. It was a Christmas present so I'm not sure where it's from, but I'm sure there are lots of similar ones available.

Tucked behind my main mirror I have a new No7 Illuminated Mirror because my other one cracked. I always do my makeup using this mirror because it means I can see every little detail up close, and it has a light around the perimeter so it creates the perfect lighting for doing my makeup.

Finally, on the right side of the table I have my MUJI acrylic drawers with two lipstick holders on top. Inside the drawers I store the majority of my lip products, and then the rest are stored in the two holders on top. I love the MUJI storage and the drawers have served me very well in the few years that I have had them. I will talk more about my lip products later though!

I store the majority of my makeup in the top 2 drawers of each side, so that's four drawers in total. In the top drawer on the left hand side I have all of my eye shadows; whether that's single shadows or palettes. I have all of the palettes methodically stacked up around the drawer, and then I have a basket full of all of my single shadows including creams. I'm not going to go through every single makeup object, for obvious reasons, but I will mention a few of my favourites from each category. My favourite palettes are definitely the Too Faced Sweet Peach, MAC Warm Neutrals, Kylie Cosmetics Burgundy and the Naked palettes. I also really like the Makeup Revolution 32 palettes, of which I have two. I have a ton of No7 single shadows in the little basket, as well as a Kylie Cosmetics cream shadow and a few of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos.

Underneath my eye shadows I store my base face products; primer, concealer, foundation, powder and setting sprays. At the back of the drawer I have my primers and concealers. I'm sure you all know that my favourite primer is the Benefit PoreFessional! I also have some Rimmel primers and a few other random brands. Next to my primers I have concealers. I don't really own that many concealers, but I just have a few Benefit ones as well as Collection, NYX and MUA. Stashed beside that basket I have two setting sprays; the NYX Matte Finish and the L'Oreal Infallible. These are both running VERY low so I am going to have to repurchase both of them soon. Then at the front of the drawer I have a basket with all of my foundations. One of my top foundations at the minute is the Estee Lauder Double Wear, and I also love the GOSH Foundation Drops, No7 Beautifully Matte and the Rimmel Lasting Finish. I don't have a storage method for my powders, so do let me know how I could store them, but I have them stacked up in the front of my drawer. I have a few of the Rimmel Stay Matte powders (obviously!) and a few random brands like NYX and Collection.

In the top left hand drawer I have a mix of products. I have all of my mascaras, eyeliners, contour products, bronzers and highlighters in this drawer. I also have a little pot at the back with my (very few!) brow products in. The first basket contains all of my mascaras. I have loads of mascaras so I'm just going to mention a few. I've really been liking the Benefit Roller Lash recently, and I also love the Benefit They're Real, Rimmel ScandalEyes and Rimmel Volume Colourist. Pushed to the very back of this drawer I have my eyeliners. As I've mentioned on multiple occasions, I don't really wear eyeliner that much because I always end up messing it up! The very last basket in the drawer contains my bronzers, contour products and highlighters. My most recent additions to this basket has been the Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette, Benefit Hoola Bronzer and The Balm Mary Lou Manizer. Some of my old favourites are the Sleek Face Form palettes, L'Oreal Infallible Sculpt Duo and Makeup Revolution Highlight Trio. In between my two baskets I also have the Smashbox Shape Matters palette because I couldn't get it to fit anywhere else:) The little pot at the back left hand corner has my brow products in. I only have a few brow products because I tend to just stick to the same gel everyday. My most recent favourite is the Benefit Gimme Brow, and I also like the NYX Tinted Brow Gel.

The final drawer has all of my blushers, but I am working on combining this drawer with the one above. The only basket in this drawer contains all of my blushers. To be honest, I have't been reaching for any of these very often recently. When I do like to wear blush, however, it's usually MAC Peachykeen or the Sleek Rose Gold blush.

Finally I have all of my lip products on the top of my dressing table, like I mentioned earlier. In the holders on top of my MUJI drawers I have all of my I Heart Makeup lipsticks, my MAC lipsticks and all of my Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipsticks and glosses. I have sorted all of my lipsticks into colours, so that I can easily find the shade I'm looking for. In the top drawer I have all nude lipsticks. I have some of the NYX Lip Lingerie's, NYX Butter Glosses, a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and a lot of other random brands. Some of the random brands I own include GOSH, KIKO, MUA and Bourjois. In the next drawer down I have reds and purples. Again, there is a whole host of different brands. Some of which include NYX, Soap & Glory, KIKO, Revlon and Rimmel. I also have a L'Oreal Colour Riche palette which is the red version. Underneath that drawer I have my pink and coral lipsticks. This is probably the drawer which I go to the least, mostly because I feel like I don't really suit these sorts of shades. The fourth drawer is a lot more empty, but I'm sure it will get filled up soon! In the drawer I have 10 Makeup Revolution lipsticks, my favourite GOSH Lip Oil, a MAC Lip Primer and a few other little lip balms. I also store all of my lip liners in here, but I don't use them all that often. I have some of the Kylie Cosmetics liners that came with my lip kits, and I also have some other brands such as MAC and MUA. I'm not going to show the final drawer because it is practically empty, it just has some random glosses in and a few perfume samples. Again, this drawer will be getting filled in the near future I suspect:)
Side note: I have only included my everyday (nude!) lipsticks because I don't really wear any of my others.

That is my updated makeup collection! I hope that you enjoyed taking a peak into my makeup drawers:) Please do let me know in the comments if you would like to see a room tour as well, because I would love to do one.

A Roundup Of My Must Have Palettes

Hello everyone!

Palettes are so useful when it comes to makeup, because they contain loads of different products all in one place. Today I am going to be sharing with you some of my favourites and I hope that this post leaves you wanting to buy them all:)

Also I just wanted to mention that all of the palettes in this post are absolutely filthy, but that just shows how loved they all are!

Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette:
The Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette is one of my most recent favourites. I have been using this palette just about every day since I got it for Christmas, and I absolutely love it. This palette is amazing because it contains three different contour shades as well as 3 different powders which are perfect for use under the eyes and for brightening different areas of the face. I have been using all three of the contour shades on the bottom row, but on the top row my favourite shade is the centre one. It is a banana powder which I use for setting my under eye area, and that just helps to prevent creasing.

Smashbox #ShapeMatters Palette:
This palette is one of those palettes that contains a whole range of different products. These palettes are great for travelling as it means you don't have to bring lots of individual products along with you. In this palette there are eye brow products, contour products and 9 gorgeous eye shadows. Smashbox is a really great makeup brand as there products are really good quality, and this palette is definitely no exception! The powder products are really easy to blend and are very pigmented. You can also create loads of different looks with the eye shadows, and the bottom left contour shade is one of my favourite contour products I have ever used.

MAC Warm Neutrals Eye Shadow Palette:
My MAC eye shadow palette is definitely one of my most used palettes in my collection. I get so much use from this palette because it contains 15 very high quality eye shadows. MAC eye shadows are one of my favourite eye shadow brands because they don't crease on the lid and don't fade throughout the day either. I honestly couldn't pick out my favourite shades from this palette, because I genuinely love and use all of them. I also love that there are a range of different finishes in this palette, including everything from matte to frost.

Makeup Revolution Iconic Lights & Contour Pro Palette:
I feel like this palette has been very neglected recently because I have been using my Kat Von D palette on a daily basis, but I still had to give it a mention because I used to use it all of the time. When I bought this palette last year I had heard that it was an amazing dupe for the NYX contour palette, which is a lot more expensive than this. I got this one and I am so glad that I did, because for a long time it was my go to palette for contouring. I love that this has four different contour shades for all skin types, and then a highlight shade as well as three powders which are perfect for under the eyes. I love the yellow toned powder as it is the perfect banana powder for setting concealer under my eyes. If you are looking for a contour palette that is on the affordable side but is still high quality, then definitely give this one a try!

Makeup Revolution Highlighter Lights Highlight Palette:
Another palette from Makeup Revolution which I love is the Highlighter Lights palette. All three of these shades are very well loved, and I sometimes even mix all three together for a blinding highlight! When I first used this palette I was so impressed with the pigmentation of all three shades as they are so pigmented and could easily pass as high end highlighters. Again, Makeup Revolution is very affordable so you can't really go wrong with this highlighter trio:)

Kylie Cosmetics Burgundy Palette:
I'm sure it's no surprise that I would be mentioning my beloved Kylie Cosmetics Burgundy palette, which I was especially loving in the Autumn months of last year. This is definitely in my top 3 eye shadow palettes, as all of the shades are right up my street and I use pretty much all of them. Some of my favourite shades to use from the palette are Beach, Brick, Almond and Dubai. These shadows are amazing because they have next to no fall out, and you only need a small amount of product because they are really pigmented.

Urban Decay Naked 3 & Naked Smoky Palette:
I think that the Naked 3 palette is one of the first high end eye shadow palettes I ever bought, and it has served me well over the past 3 or so years. I love the rose gold toned eye shadows of this palette, with some of my favourites being Dust, Burnout and Buzz. Urban Decay are one of my favourite brands for eye shadows because they have an amazing shade range and the quality is always really great too. The other Naked palette I absolutely love is the Naked Smoky, which has 12 shades which are perfect for creating lots of different smoky eye looks. My favourite shades from this palette are High, Dirtysweet, Radar, Smolder and Whiskey. I have to admit, I haven't got that much use from these two palettes for the past few months, because I have been trying out different eye palettes, but these still remain in my favourite palettes:)

Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Palette:
This next palette is the most beautiful palette I have ever saw in my life. The packaging of the palette is amazing and I am so glad I decided to buy the palette when it was released last year. It is a limited edition palette, so it's no longer available, but I still wanted to briefly include it in this post. When you lift the top of the palette there are two little doors which you open, and out pops a gorgeous blue butterfly. You then pull out a drawer and inside are 20 eye shadows of all different colours. I honestly never thought I would get that much use from the brighter and colourful shades in this palette, but I have honestly used them more than the neutral shades in the palette. Some of my favourite shades in the palette are Gone Mad, Duchess, Dream On, Kingdom, Salazen Grum, Cake and Chessboard.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette:
The final palette I am going to be talking about today is, of course, the Too Faced Sweet Peach. This is the newest addition to my palette collection, and I am absolutely in love with it! I'm sure you all know this by now, but the palette actually does smell like peaches and I love the scent. My only criticism for this palette is that some of the darker shades and some of the glittery shades do have a little bit of fallout, but I don't really find this to be too much of a problem because I normally do my eyes before my face makeup. This palette has all of my favourite shades in it for everyday wear, and I'm not going to pick out individual shades because there is not a shade in this palette which I don't love! Even the darker shades are getting used quite a lot in my eye looks.

Let me know down in the comments what your favourite palette is at the minute, and whether you will be buying any of the ones mentioned here?
