Autumn/Winter Lips

Hello everyone!

I love a bold lip in Autumn and Winter time. Today I am going to be sharing with you my favourite bold lipsticks for the colder months.

I Heart Makeup Lip Geek in 'Totally NOT Boring!'
I did a whole blog post on I Heart Makeup lipsticks a few months back. The shade 'Totally NOT Boring!' is a gorgeous plum shade, which has some serious pigmentation! The I Heart Makeup lipsticks are very affordable and there are a very wide range of shades. I usually find that cheaper lipsticks can be hard to apply and drying on the lips, but this one is very creamy and glides on the lips really well. Also, the shade is not patchy whatsoever, which is usually a problem with most darker lipsticks.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Matte Lip in 'Berry Much'
The next lipstick is a matte finish, which is my favourite lipstick finish ever! The Soap & Glory matte lipstick in the shade 'Berry Much' is a deep blue based purple shade. Matte lipsticks can often be very drying on the lips, but this one isn't drying at all. It does apply a little patchily on the lips but this can easily be solved with a second layer. I usually find that 99% of darker lipsticks apply patchily anyways, this is down to the fact that it is harder to get the formula right on darker shades of lipstick.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour in 'Addiction'
First of all, I absolutely love the scent of these liquid lipsticks:) 'Addiction' is a purple shade. You only need to apply one thin layer of these, and they dry down matte really nicely. It feels like velvet on the lips and lasts fairly well. If you apply too much product then it won't dry down matte and can look quite patchy. I'm not a huge fan of the applicator and find that it can be a little tricky to apply my lipstick with, so I just take a precise lip brush into the tube instead.

KIKO Intensely Lavish Lipstick in '05 Heavy Cherry'
This lipstick is from KIKO's holiday collection last year, so it's not available anymore, but I still wanted to include it anyway. The packaging is absolutely stunning; I love anything that's rose gold! The finish of this lipstick is very glossy, but it still lasts just as long as a matte lipstick. Again, the pigmentation is really great and you only need to apply one layer to get an opaque finish. The shade is very pretty and that is the reason why it is one of my favourite Autumn/Winter lipsticks!

MAC Retro Matte in 'Flat Out Fabulous'
I have had Flat Out Fabulous for such a long time now; well over a year. This shade is a very vibrant matte plum shade. The formula is a little drier than usual MAC lipsticks, but it is a matte lipstick so they tend to be on the drier side anyway. Once applied, the lipstick looks gorgeous on the lips.

MAC Lustre in 'Milan Mode'
This is another one of my very early MAC lipstick purchases. This is a Lustre finish lipstick so the formula is a lot more moisturising and it glides on the lips nicely. It is a sheer lipstick so it isn't completely opaque like the others are, but I really like the effect it gives when on the lips. It's also not as bright at Flat Out Fabulous, and it does have some shimmer to it which is really pretty when it catches the light.

NYX Butter Gloss in 'Red Velvet'
I don't wear glosses that often, but when I do it's more than likely that I'll be wearing a NYX Butter Gloss. Red Velvet is a gorgeous purple red shade (hence the name!) and is very glossy. The NYX Butter Glosses are really moisturising on the lips and apply really smoothly. I do have two other shades but this one is by far my favourite.

Collection Deluxe Lipstick in 'Prohibition'
I have had this lipstick for a really long time but it still remains in my favourite Autumn/Winter lipsticks of all time. Collection is a very affordable brand which is sold in most Boots and some Superdrug's. It is a berry shade with a slight purple undertone to it. The formula is creamy and applies really smoothly to the lips. This one would be great if you suffer from dry lips as it has a sheen to it and doesn't cling to any dry patches.

Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in 'The Redder, The Better'
I have a fair few of the Rimmel Colour Rush Balm's in my makeup collection, all in an array of different shades. 'The Redder, The Better' is a classic red shade. It has a lovely finish which is moisturising and pigmented. I think that this is a great red shade which will compliment any skin tone.

L'Oreal Color Riche Palette in Red
This palette contains 6 different red lipstick shades, so there is definitely something for everyone. This compact is great for travel as you have lots of different shades of red lipstick as well as a full sized mirror. You also get a little lip brush to apply the lipsticks with, although it's not something I have or will be using. There is everything from a coral toned red, to an orange red and a berry shade. I think that this palette will really compliment every single skin tone, and is perfect for on the go top ups.

I hope that you enjoyed this blog post. Let me know in the comments what your go to Autumn/Winter lipsticks are:)

Until next time,

New In Beauty #3 | Makeup Revolution Christmas

Hello everyone!

Today I am back with another 'new in beauty' post. One of my favourite drugstore brands is Makeup Revolution, and they never fail to impress with their Christmas releases. Last year they released both an advent calendar and a chest full of makeup, and they have done exactly the same this year. They have also released loads more exciting gift sets!

I am very excited about a lot of these products and can't wait to get my hands on some of them. There is definitely something for everyone in this huge collection of gifts; with prices ranging from £6 all the way up to £100.

12 Days Of Christmas Storage Chest (£50.00)
There are two versions of the MUR storage chest this year, one is £50 and one is £100. The £50 version includes 12 different products. Some of the items in the storage chest include: a blush palette, 3 eye shadow palettes, strobe cream, eye primer and lots more.

Makeup Revolution Advent Calendar (£40.00)
If you're not really into chocolate advent calendars, then a makeup calendar is the perfect option (or you could treat yourself to both!). You get 25 products in total, including 3 mini brushes, so you get a makeup treat for every day of December up until the 25th.

Christmas Storage Chest (£100.00)
The most expensive product in the Makeup Revolution Christmas gift collection is, of course, the humongous chest which is packed full of makeup! There are 12 drawers in total, with a product in every drawer. You can also use the drawers to organise your makeup collection.

Handbag Hacks Brow Kit (£6.00)
This year Makeup Revolution have released lots of 'Handbag Hacks' kits. The first one is for brows, and consists of a mini brow trio and angled brow brush.

Handbag Hacks Contour Duo (£6.00)
The next kit is the contour duo. In this set you get a contour duo and a brush. This is the perfect gift for anyone obsessed with contouring, like me!

Handbag Hacks Matte Balm & Mirror (£6.00)
This set has a mattifying balm compact in it as well as a mini blending sponge. This would be great to pop in your handbag if you get oily skin and need to touch up your makeup throughout the day.

Handbag Hacks Strobe Light & Cheeks (£6.00)
I love that these sets all come with a little makeup bag so they are easy to pop in your handbag and then you can just do touch ups throughout the day. This set has a strobe balm, blusher and face brush included in it.

HD Pro Eye Shadow & Brush Set (£20.00)
This next set includes a 24 shade eye shadow palette which contains some gorgeous neutral shades. You also get three different eye brushes in the set too. This is the perfect kit for someone that is just starting out in makeup, or for someone who tends to lean towards more neutral eye shadow shades.

HD Pro Sculpt & Contour Set (£20.00)
This set is definitely going on my makeup wish list as I love contouring and sculpting my face. In this set you can a Pro HD contour palette which has 8 different contour shades included. You also get two contour brushes and a makeup sponge. With this set you can contour until your hearts content!

HD Pro Strobe Gift Set (£20.00)
Strobing isn't something that I am very familiar with, but it has became a very popular makeup trend over the past few months. This set will also be going on my Christmas list as strobing is something that I do want to try out. This set will be the perfect starting kit for me as you get a strobe palette, two brushes and a strobe stick.

Iconic Nudes Brush Collection (£30.00)
I have never tried any Makeup Revolution brushes but I have heard lots of great things about them. This set is perfect if you are looking for a new set of makeup brushes. In the set you get 5 face brushes as well as 4 eye brushes and a sculpting sponge.

Ultra Nude Lip Gloss Set (£6.00)
I am all about nude lip colours so this would be the best lip gloss set for me. You get three types of lip gloss in the set, which are: Amplification Intense Lip Gloss, Euphoria Cream Lip Gloss and a Shine Lip Gloss.

Ultra Vamp Lip Gloss Set (£6.00)
The other lip gloss set is more on the darker vampy side. I love wearing darker lip colours in the Autumn/Winter time, so I will definitely be getting this set. You get the same lip gloss types in this set as you do in the nude set which I have just talked about.

Pro Prime & Colour Correct Gift Set (£20.00)
I absolutely love the look of this gift set and it is definitely getting added to my Christmas wish list! In the set you get a prime and correct palette, fixing spray and two different brushes. I have been wanting to try the fixing spray for a little while as I have heard a lot of great things about it. This set is great, and the brushes look amazing too.

The Palette Edit (£30.00)
I own quite a few of the Makeup Revolution palettes and they never let me down. If you are wanting to try out some of their palettes then this would definitely be the set for you. You get three different eye shadow palettes in the set, so you definitely won't be running out of eye shadow palettes anytime soon! You also get a bronzing palette and a blush palette.

Ultra Pro Brow Expert Gift Set (£20.00)
This set includes everything you're ever going to need for your brows, with plenty of colour choices. The set comes with a brow contour palette, which consists of 4 powders, 2 tints, 1 highlighter, 1 strobe balm, 1 brow enhancing wax and 1 brow sealing wax. You also get two eye brow brushes which you can use alongside the brow palette, and a brow & eye primer stick.

Ultra Pro Collection (£30.00)
I also love the look of this set and I can guarantee I will be purchasing it if I don't receive it as a gift for Christmas. This set has everything in it that you could possibly need to finish off your makeup look. The kit is such good value for money as you are getting a lip palette, blending eye brush, flat contour brush, cream contour kit, Redemption Palette in Smoked Nudes, highlight duo, eye primer and a brow kit. I don't have any of these products so I cannot wait to get my hands on this collection.

That is everything in the Makeup Revolution Christmas collection. I hope that you are enjoying reading these posts as much as I am enjoying writing them! Let me know what items you are most excited about:)

Until next time,

New In Beauty #2 | Tanya Burr Cosmetics Christmas

Hello everyone!

Today I am going to be sharing with you all of the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Christmas makeup releases. I have already done a post where I talk about the Zoella Beauty Christmas products, and I will be doing more of these posts right up until Christmas:)

I have only tried a handful of products from Tanya's permanent makeup line, and I am very excited to try her Christmas products. The packaging is very pretty and there are products in the collection for every budget.

Tanya Burr Presents Beauty Box (£50.00)
This is the most expensive set in the whole collection and you get a lot of different products in it. You can also keep the box and store keepsakes in it.

Beautifully Defined Palette (£11.00)
This palette is really great because you get eye shadows, a highlight, bronzer and a liquid highlight. I think that this would be great for travel as you have a lot of different makeup products in one palette.

Beauty Holdall Vanity Case (£17.00)
I love the design of this vanity case. It's a very large size so you will be able to fit all of your makeup products in. It is a rose gold design with a pink lip design on it, perfect for storing your everyday makeup in or for travel.

It's Cold Outside Palette (£11.00)
In this little palette you get a blush, highlight and lip gloss. How cute are all of the names too?!

Mrs Claus Nail Polish Set in Pink (£5.00)
In this set you get a nail file as well as a pink glitter nail varnish which looks absolutely beautiful. I think that this nail polish would look really nice on its own, or layered on top of another nail polish.

Mrs Claus Nail Polish Set in Red (£5.00)
This set is a similar concept, except this time the nail polish is a gorgeous red wine shade which would be perfect for the Winter season.

It's Kissmass Lip Gloss Set in Candy Cane (£6.00)
This set is such a great concept, and the name is really cute too:) You get two lip glosses in a red shade and a pink shade. I really liked the lip glosses that used to be available from Tanya's range a few years ago, so I'm sure I would love these too!

12 Day Advent Calendar (£25.00)
This is probably my favourite product from the whole Christmas range. A similar thing was brought out last year but I wasn't actually able to get it because it sold out so quickly. There is a makeup item behind every door on the calendar. You will find everything in this calendar including: lip glosses, nail polishes, liners and glitters.

Pretty Unstoppable (£9.00)
The final item in the Tanya Burr Christmas collection is a palette which contains four eye shadows, a highlight, blush and a matte liquid lipstick. I am very excited to get my hands on one of these palettes and try the products out for myself.

My favourite product from the collection is definitely the advent calendar as I love that you get a makeup related surprise everyday. What is your favourite item(s) from the collection?!

Until next time,

New In Beauty #1 | Zoella Christmas

Hello everyone!

I love when new beauty collections are released around Christmas time. I thought that I would start doing 'new in beauty' posts on my blog so that I can share with you new beauty collections that are being released. We are getting closer to Christmas so all of the collections being released now are Christmas themed, so I will be sharing those with you over the next few months. I am also going to continue these posts after Christmas if you enjoy them:)

The collection ranges from £6.00 to £50.00 and is ginger bread themed, with the prettiest packaging I have ever seen. There are 12 products in total as well as two different gift bag designs.

Hungry Hands (£6.00)
I love a good hand cream in the colder months as my skin tends to get very dehydrated. Hungry Hands is said to be super moisturising and smells just like gingerbread and vanilla.

Just Crackers (£11.00)
This set is very exciting and is not something that Zoella has released before. In this set you get four crackers with either a body wash, body lotion, lip balm or hand cream inside. These would be perfect to split up and give to four different people as a little stocking filler.

Spa In A Jar (£11.00)
'Spa In A Jar' consists of a shower gel, body cream and a little muslin cloth in a jar. You could even reuse the jar, I think it would look especially pretty with some fairy lights inside!

Mist & Body Lotion Set (£11.00)
In this gift set you get a full sized 'Bake My Day' body mist alongside the 'Ginger Cream' body lotion. Both products sound amazing and I'm sure they smell just as great.

Pamper Hamper (£50.00)
This is the most expensive item in the whole Christmas range which comes with 7 different products, all presented in a beautiful white hamper. Inside the set you get a body cream, hand cream, shower gel, bath crystals (exclusive to this set!), bath fizzer and a makeup bag (also exclusive to this set!).

We 3 Beauties Cosmetic Bag Trio (£19.00)
I love a good makeup bag and this trio is simply stunning! You get three makeup bags, each with a different design, and all three vary inside. The first bag you get is a very simple clear bag with 'Zoella' written on the front in a coral pink cursive writing, as well as a coral pink zip. The second bag is a gorgeous rose gold glittery pouch, and the final bag is white and has 'throw kindness around like confetti' written in gold font. I love all three of these bags and I think this would be a great gift for anyone.

Best Chums (£13.00)
The next set is really great for splitting with your best friend. The set consists of two matching coin purses, that's one for a friend and one for you!

Deck The Baubles (£6.00)
This little bauble would be another perfect stocking filler. It's filled to the brim with spicy gingerbread and warm vanilla bubble bath. This smells absolutely amazing to me, and would be perfect for a cosy bath on a cold Winter's night.

Ginger Fizz (£9.00)
I loved the fizz bar trio that was released last year so I was very excited to see that there are fizz bars in the collection this year. But this time they are in the shape of a gingerbread man! Who wouldn't want gingerbread men shaped bath bombs?!

Let's Go Places Set (£26.00)
This cute set contains a body wash, hand cream and body cream; all of which are beautifully presented in a stripey lunch box. As well as the three products, you also get a rose gold luggage tag which you can attach to your luggage when travelling.

Lip Balm Duo (£7.00)
I'm always in need of a lip balm so this set would be the perfect gift for me, as you get two delicious smelling lip balms. One lip balm is gingerbread scented and the other is vanilla. Yummy!

Secret Scenta Mini Mist Set (£16.00)
This is probably my favourite gift set that is in the Zoella Christmas range. I love the body mists and in this set you get all four of her fragrances, which are in miniature form so they are perfect to pop in your handbag.

This is definitely my favourite collection that Zoella has ever released, it looks amazing and most of the products will definitely be going on my Christmas wish list! Let me know in the comments which product(s) you are most excited about:)

Currently Loving #3

Hello everyone!

A few months ago I started a series on my blog where every 2 or 3 months I would share all of the things that I have been loving over the past few months. I can't believe that this is my third 'currently loving' post as I used to do monthly favourites once and then forget to do them for 4 or 5 months. I have rounded together more things that I have been loving recently and I am going to go through them all now.

Makeup Revolution Iconic Lights & Contour Pro Palette
I have done a full blog post on this contour kit where I talked about how much I loved it, so I obviously had to feature it in this post! I was expecting great things from this palette because I had read so many amazing reviews about it, and I definitely wasn't disappointed. You can read the full blog post I did on this palette here, so I am not going to talk too much about it in this post. I do love all of the shades in the palette as they are pigmented and really buttery which makes them very easy to blend out on the skin.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation
This foundation is quite new to the drugstore. I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about this foundation, so I thought I would try it out for myself. The packaging is just a very simple plastic tube. The formula of the foundation is very thin and runny, so be careful not to squeeze too much from the tube. I picked up the shade 110 Porcelain which is a very good match for my skin tone. I have worn this quite a few times and I have to say that I am very impressed. I can wear this on my skin for a good 3 or 4 hours without powder, and then a further 3 or 4 hours with powder. The coverage isn't extremely full coverage, which is something I do usually go for, but I actually really like that it's not a full on heavy coverage. I tend to do two layers of this foundation and it covers everything that I want it to, but it still looks natural. If you are looking for a new foundation and you have oily skin, I would definitely give this one a try:)

Real Techniques Bold Metals 201 Pointed Crease Brush
I also mentioned in my most recent drugstore haul that I wanted to finish off my Real Techniques makeup brush collection by purchasing the remaining Bold Metals brushes that I don't already have. I recently got the 201 Pointed Crease Brush and I have been loving it for blending my transition shade into the crease and outer corner. The bristles are also really soft, just like every other Real Techniques brush.

The Girl In The Red Coat Book
I have been reading a few different books recently, but my favourite one to read has been The Girl In The Read Coat by Kate Hamer. Once I started reading this book I honestly couldn't put it down! The story line is really easy to follow. It is really well written and I would definitely recommend that you read this book if you are looking for a new book to read.

Primark Blanket (£5.00- bargain!)
I recently went on a little shopping trip and I ventured into the Primark home ware section. I really like the Primark home ware, and it isn't too expensive either. I was looking for a new blanket as we are getting into the colder weather now, and I spotted a really fluffy blanket with a gorgeous grey, orange and blue triangle design. I will definitely be getting a lot more use from this blanket as the months get colder. I am also going to be using it as a background for my blog photos.

AJ Morgan Sunglasses
Summer is almost over now but I wanted to include the sunglasses that I have been wearing and loving all the time. I bought these from ASOS for £12, which is such a good price, and I think that they really compliment my face shape. I can't wait to wear these again next Summer:)

River Island Drape Coat in Camel
As Summer is getting to an end, I have started buying some Autumn/Winter clothes. I made a small order on ASOS and picked up this lovely coat whilst I was on there. I have been looking for a coat like this for a long time now, and I just had to pick this up considering it was on sale. The coat had originally been £85 but I got it for £55, which is a great deal! I love the colour of this coat and I think that it will pair really well with a shirt, ripped jeans and Chelsea Boots. I will definitely be getting a lot of wear from this coat as it keeps me really warm and goes with a lot of different outfits.

ASOS Long Tassle Scarf in Supersoft Knit
The second item I purchased when I was on the ASOS website is a scarf. I know that the weather is only going to get colder from now on, so I bought a new fluffy scarf that will keep me warm throughout the Winter. I think that it will look really good with my new coat, and it definitely keeps me warm. As the name suggests, the scarf is really soft and cosy too:)

ASOS Swing Cardigan With Unicorn Elbow Patch
Whilst I was on the ASOS website I bought this really comfy cardigan. I absolutely love the unicorn elbow patches. This cardigan is really good for lounging around in as it is made from a really soft material and it falls really loosely over the body. Again, this is great for Winter as I can throw it on if it gets a bit chilly.

New Look Marble Print iPhone 6 Case
I wanted to change my phone case as I have had my current Skinnydip pug phone case on my phone ever since I got my phone. I spotted this marble print case on the ASOS website for only £5.99 so I bought it. It is really sturdy and I am loving the marble design.

I hope that you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know in the comments what you have been loving recently!

Until next time,
Emily xo
