Kylie Jenner Lip Gloss & Lip Kits | Review

Hello everyone!

The most nerve wracking thing I have ever done is order Kylie Jenner lip products! When she released her line of lip glosses I was lucky enough to get one on my first try. But, the lip kits were a completely different story. I tried four times before I eventually was able to buy Dolce K and Candy K.

The problem I was having, amongst thousands of other beauty lovers, was that the website kept crashing. Thankfully that got sorted a few weeks ago and I can finally say that I own some of the Kylie Jenner lip products! Staying up until 1am refreshing the Kylie Cosmetics page was definitely worth it!

About 2 weeks ago two very familiar looking boxes arrived at my door... My lip kits and gloss finally came!

I am going to talk about the lip gloss first because I got that before my lip kits. I picked up the shade Literally (there are currently three in the range). Literally is a peachy nude shade, and because it is a gloss it is obviously not matte like the lip kits. I don't use lip glosses that often because I tend to find them sticky, but this one is not sticky whatsoever and sits nice and comfortably on the lips. The only problem I found is with the applicator. A lot of the bristles stick out quite a bit, and I know that I am not the only person who has had this problem. Kylie Cosmetics have now rectified the problem, and they are currently in the process of sending out new lip glosses to everyone including me:)

The two lip kits I got, which is what I was most excited for, are Dolce K and Candy K. Dolce K is a beige nude shade and Candy K is a warm nude shade. As you can tell, I do like my nudes! If you are not familiar with the lip kits; you get a matte liquid lipstick and a lip liner. The formula of the liquid lipsticks are quite watery but they set matte straight away.

I just want to comment about the fact that these lip products last really well on the lips; I didn't need to re apply them once throughout the day!

Let me know if you have any of the Kylie lip kits, and which shades you own!

GRWM | Wedding

Hello everyone!

I was at a wedding last night and I thought that I would talk through all of the products I used to get ready as well as my outfit.

Skincare/Hair Products...
I wanted to apply a gradual tanner the night before the wedding so I exfoliated my whole body using a Soap & Glory body scrub. I have recently been using the Aveeno body wash and moisturiser as I have been suffering from really dry skin. Once I had let the Aveeno moisturiser soak into my skin, I then applied a layer of the Dove Summer Glow gradual tanner. I like this tanner because it is very natural looking.

For my hair I use the Regis Olive Oil shampoo (£8.49) and conditioner (£8.99). I recently got quite a bit of length took off my hair at one of the Regis salons and the lady that was doing my hair used the same shampoo and conditioner. I bought a bottle of each and use them every time I wash my hair, both products smell amazing!

My Makeup...
I actually washed my makeup brushes the day before the wedding because I feel like my makeup applies a lot better with clean brushes. I just used a cheap drugstore face wash and the MAC Brush Cleanser afterwards to get out any other dirt.

For my day time makeup I kept it fairly neutral. I used the Rimmel Lasting Finish primer along with the Lasting Finish foundation and Clear Complexion pressed powder. I then took the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara as I do like to comb through my brows so that I can set them into place. I have recently been loving the L'Oreal Infallible Sculpt palette and this is what I used to contour. I love that it is a cream formula but it sets as a powder, which means that it lasts a lot longer than a regular powder contour. For blush I used Benefit Rockateur, I have been using this quite a bit as I think it's the perfect peach blush for Spring.

On my eyes I used the MAC Bare Study paint pot along with the Zorba eyeshadow from the Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless palette. I didn't really do too much for my eye shadow because I wanted to keep my makeup fairly neutral, and this eyeshadow is just a really pretty champagne shade. I then used the Rimmel Volume Colourist mascara, I have really been loving this mascara as it adds a lot of volume to the lashes. I then decided to apply some of the Fleur De Force false lashes because I wanted a little bit of extra volume and length, then I applied another coat of mascara.

Finally, on my lips I used the LUSH bubble gum lip scrub to make my lips really smooth and ready to apply a matte lipstick. I then applied the Kylie Lip Kit lip liner and liquid lipstick in the shade Dolce K. I have been obsessed with my two lip kits and gloss ever since they came. There is a review coming up on my blog next week where I talk all about them!

I finished off my makeup by spraying some of the L'Oreal Infallible fixing mist. I had heard that this really makes your makeup last a lot longer, and it definitely did. I bought this because I knew that I wouldn't have time to re do my whole makeup look, and so I needed something to make it last all day and night.

For my night time makeup I touched up my base makeup by just applying a little bit of the Clear Complexion powder so that any oiliness was sorted out. I then re applied my lipstick, the same NYX Lip Lingerie as I used for the day time. I didn't really have enough time to re do all of my makeup so I just did a few little touch ups and I was good to go!

My Outfit...
My dress was from the Michelle Keegan range at Lipsy (you can find it here). It was £65, so not too pricey, and I love the black lace design on the top half of the dress. The dress is high neck, sleeveless and is a gorgeous nude colour. I absolutely love this dress and I will be wearing this whenever I get the chance!

On my feet I wore my River Island boots. I wear these all the time because they are surprisingly really comfortable and they look great too. I decided not to get new shoes because I knew that these would be comfy to wear all day. You can find the boots here on the RI website.

I needed a little clutch bag to put my phone and makeup in. I already had a glitter gold clutch and so I decided to use that. It was from Dorothy Perkins and they no longer sell it. Below I have listed a few similar clutch bags;

  • Boohoo Anne Glitter Envelope Clutch, £12.00 (here)
  • I found one from eBay that looks similar, £9.99 (here)

I finished off my look by dusting some of the LUSH Fairy Dust dusting powder. I used an old powder brush to dust this on my arms and legs. It gives a beautiful glow and smells just like snow fairy too.

I was planning on wearing a different dress for the night time of the wedding, but I just decided to wear the same one because I absolutely love it:)

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know what other things you would like to see on my blog in the future!

Underrated Beauty Products

Hello everyone!

Today I am going to be talking about products that I think are really underrated. I have a collection of products that I think just aren't talked about enough in the blogging industry, and today I am going to tell you why I love them and why I think you will love them too!

No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation (£14.50)
I use this foundation every day and talk about it all the time, but I never actually hear any other bloggers talking about this foundation. I love the consistency of this foundation as it isn't too thin, but isn't too thick either. It offers a medium to high coverage, and doesn't oxidise on my skin either. I think that this foundation deserves a lot more coverage on blogs because it is honestly amazing!

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara (£5.50)
This NYX brow mascara is something that is fairly new in my collection, I have had it for around 3 months. I have never actually seen any other bloggers use this or even talk about it, so I was interested to see what it was like. I have quite thick brows anyways and I like to just use a mascara to set them into place, and this is the best one I have found so far. It doesn't make my brows hard and crispy like some other brow products do, and it just very subtly tints them.

No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Soft Damson (£8.00)
I actually haven't used this blush in AGES! I used to use this almost everyday, and it's just a really pretty pink. I actually think that this would be a perfect Spring blush because it is a really natural looking cheek colour. This is the only shade that I have and I haven't really seen them mentioned on any other blogs. This blush definitely should be mentioned more because it is a gorgeous shade and it lasts all day on my cheeks:)

Korres Sunflower and Evening Primrose Eye Shadow in 27 Golden Bronze (£12.00)
I absolutely love this eye shadow! If I don't know what eye shadow to wear then I will usually go for this one. It is really pigmented and lasts well. This shadow is perfect for all year round and I think that more bloggers should talk about this because it is honestly my all time favourite eye shadow. I like to blend the colour out on my lid and then take a detailer brush and place it on my lower lash line too.

GOSH #FoundationDrops (£12.99)
I have two shades of this foundation and it is one of my favourite drugstore foundations. I use shade 002 when I am really pale and then if I have a tan I use 004, sometimes I am in between shades and if that is the case then I mix the two shades together. The consistency of this foundation is very watery (make sure you shake the bottle before you use it!) and you use a little dropper which can be a little bit messy. Other than that, you really only need a little bit of product to get a full coverage look and it is super light so it feels like you have no product on your face at all! Overall, I love this and you NEED to try this if you haven't already!

I hope that you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these products, and let me know what you thought of them too:)
Until next time,

Overrated Beauty Products

Hello everyone!

In this blog post I am going to be sharing with you some of the products which I think are overrated. All of the products I mention in this post have been tried and tested by me, and they just didn't really work as well as expected.

Collection Lasting Perfection concealer (£4.19)
A lot of people will probably hate me for saying this, but I really don't like the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer! I find that when I apply this under the eyes it goes patchy straight away and creases really badly. It is really unflattering on me, but most of you probably don't like it. I have heard a lot of good reviews on this but I have also heard a few bloggers saying that they don't like it either. Let me know what you think of this concealer if you have tried it:)

Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara (£7.99)
It's not that I don't like this mascara, it's just it was really hyped up about and when I tried it I didn't like it THAT much. I do use this every so often because I don't want to waste it, but it is not one of my favourites. It can be a little clumpy at times and I really don't like that look, although some people do. I also find that the formula is really wet so whenever I attempt to use this it transfers all over my face! Let me know how you got on with this mascara because I know that most people do like this mascara... What am I doing wrong?!

Collection Lasting Perfection foundation (£5.99)
Two out of 5 products from this post are from Collection. I do usually like their products, but unfortunately both of these didn't really work for me. I bought the Lasting Perfection foundation because I had heard a few people say that they really liked this. I found that this foundation was very cakey, offered no coverage and sunk into fine lines and pores.

Urban Decay Primer Potions
With one of my Urban Decay palettes I got 4 samples of the famous primer potions. It is not the fact I don't like these primers, they are just really overrated. I have used up a few of the samples and I will continue to use the samples I have left, but there are so many other primers that are just as good if not better. Everybody used to talk about these as if they were an essential, but I much prefer my trusty Maybelline Colour Tattoos and MAC Paint Pots.

NYX Butter Glosses (£5.00 each)
The NYX butter glosses are fairly new to my makeup collection. I did talk about these in a previous post and I mentioned that they were a little sticky for my liking. I usually go for matte lipsticks, and so I am not a huge fan of glosses anyway. These were so hyped up that I felt I just needed to try a few to see what they're all about. I will continue to use these because I can set them with a translucent powder to make them matte, but if you don't like really sticky glosses then these are definitely not for you! On another note, these glosses smell absolutely incredible:)

Let me know if you tried any of the products I mentioned in this post, I would love to know if you feel the same about them?!

My MAC Collection

Hello everyone!

Over the years I have built up my MAC collection and I wanted to show you it today. I am going to be doing a full makeup collection on my blog soon, but for now I am just going to show you everything I own from MAC. I don't actually own that many products from MAC, and I haven't bought anything from there for a while because I have been trying out a lot of different high end products.

I am going to split this post up into face, eyes and lips. I still don't own any base products (foundations, concealers or powders) from MAC despite mentioning in my last MAC collection that I was going to get some. I have heard lots of mixed reviews on MAC foundations and concealers, but that is not to say I won't get any in the near future!

Face: Blushers
The only three face products I own from MAC are blushers. I have three that I used to use all of the time, but I don't use them that often anymore. I own: Peachykeen (Sheer Tone), Stay Pretty (Pro Longwear) and Well Dressed (Satin).

The first blush I am going to talk about is Peachykeen. This is a sheer tone blush so it isn't the most pigmented, but it adds a beautiful peachy sheen to the cheeks. I am sure I have said this before, but this does have a lot of shimmer so it isn't everybody's cup of tea! I don't mind the glitter and I think it is the perfect Spring blush.

Next up, I have Stay Pretty which is a Pro Longwear blush. I think that this blush would compliment all skin tones because it is a pink blush with some blue undertones. The Pro Longwear blushes, in my opinion, last just as well as the other blushes. Another thing to note is that they are slightly more expensive than the 'regular' MAC blushers.

Finally I am going to talk about the first MAC blush I ever got; Well Dressed. This is a Satin finish blush, so rather than having lots of chunky glitter it just has a sheen to it. This is a cool toned blush and I really like that it isn't extremely pigmented as I do just like to add some subtle colour to my cheeks.

Eyes: Eye Shadows & Palettes
Including my huge MAC palette, I currently own 21 MAC shadows. I have two single shadows, a quad and a palette with 15 shades in it. I also have one of the MAC paint pots in Bare Study, which I use every single day before I do my eye shadow. Considering I have used this every day for the past year or so, I still have a lot of product left because you really only need a little bit of product.

I am just going to briefly talk about my 15 shade Warm Neutrals palette because I have done a full post on it (which you can read here). My favourite shades from the palette are Honey Lust, Amber Lights, Gingersnap and Saddle.

The two single MAC shadows I have are Satin Taupe and All That Glitters. Satin Taupe is a frost finish and I love putting this in the crease if I am doing a smokey eye look. It is a really pretty taupe shade with some silver glitter in it. The other single shadow I have is All That Glitters, which is a shimmery peachy beige shade.

I also have a MAC quad which I personalised myself about 2 years ago! In the quad I have: Malt, Naked Lunch, Star Violet and Black Tied. This is the perfect quad for when I'm travelling because it has everything in it that I need to create a decent eye look. I can use either Malt or Naked Lunch on my lid, True Violet in my crease and Black Tied in the outer corner.

Lips: Lipsticks
I have ten MAC lipsticks, and I haven't bought any more in absolutely ages! I wanted to build my MAC lipstick collection up but I have so many other lip products so I might do that in a few months.

The shades I have are: Angel, Brave, Creme Cup, Flat Out Fabulous, Hue, Lovelorn, Milan Mode, Pink Pearl Pop, Plink! and Snob. I am not going to do in depth reviews on every individual shade because that would take ages, but I will include the descriptions that are on the MAC website as well as their finishes.
  • Angel- Soft pink, frost finish.
  • Brave- Pink beige with white pearl, satin finish.
  • Creme Cup- Light blue pink, cremesheen finish.
  • Flat Out Fabulous- Bright plum, retro matte finish.
  • Hue- Soft pale pink, glaze finish.
  • Lovelorn- Emotive blue pink, lustre finish.
  • Milan Mode- Sheer deep pink with multidimensional pearl, lustre finish.
  • Pink Pearl Pop- Frosted midtonal pink, cremesheen finish.
  • Plink!- Warm seashell pink, lustre finish.
  • Snob- Light neutral pink, satin finish.

I store all of my MAC lipsticks in a lipstick holder on top of my MUJI drawers. I like to have them on display, and they wouldn't fit inside my MUJI drawers anyway!

Let me know what products you have tried from MAC, and which are your favourites.

Until next time,
Emily xo
